Clan: Mizu Yurei (Water Specter) Clan
Clan History:
- The Mizu Yurei (Water Specter) Clan originated in Amegakure (Village Hidden in the Rain). Known for their effectiveness in mission completion, they were widely sought after but remained loyal to Amegakure by not accepting any outside missions. Continuing their legacy in the Village Hidden in the Rain for several hundred years, Mizu Yurei bolstered the village’s respect among other leading Shinobi areas. However, this also had an adverse effect, causing some hidden villages to see Amegakure as a potential threat. Many assassination attempts erupted in the once peaceful village, often resulting in needless casualties. The Water Specter Clan, no longer wanting to put their village in harm, decided to take refuge in an undisclosed area.
- Their plan to spare their village of possible peril seemed to be working effectively. Only two years after their retreat, word reached the clan that the Village Hidden in the Rain was under attack by a large number of unknown Shinobi. The clan franticly rushed back to their beloved homeland, finding a bloody massacre occurring right before their eyes. Their valiant efforts to preserve what was left of Amegakure remained in vain, as all the members who returned were slaughtered mercilessly.
- Relief efforts were taken to restore peace and order to Amegakure. Konoha being one of the main providers of aid offered to provide refuge to surviving members of the Mizu Yurei Clan. Leaving their refuge area and making the migration to Konoha was difficult, but many of the clan members adapted quickly. Their presence was widely accepted, but still some saw them as outsiders and feared their unknown abilities. After residing in the Village Hidden in the Leaves for a few years, many of the clan members decided to return to Amegakure. However, a few families decided to travel across the forest and take residence in Sunagakure, this movement included Kizu’s family.
Bloodline Technique:
(1) Yurei Sesshoku (Specter Touch)
- The Mizu Yurei (Water Specter) Clan has the ability to manipulate chemical bonds using chakra. As the cells shift hydrogen and oxygen bond together creating many water molecules inside the touched item. This chemical change is somewhat modified in that it has the capability of retaining its shape, despite being comprised completely of water.
- For instance, a clan member may transform a simple wooden sword into a shaft of condensed water. If struck the object will pass straight through the modified object, just as it would pass through water. History:
- Taki Kizu, or simply referred to as Kizu, was born in a small desolate area just south of the Village Hidden in the Rain on the outskirts of Sunagakure. He initially was not told the reason for his current residence and accepted it as being all he knew. His early childhood was very much that of a normal child in a Shinobi lifestyle. He trained vigorously with other children inside his small construct. However, he was never allowed to venture outside after the sun had set.
- At the age of 8, not wanting to continue conforming to rules he did not understand, Kizu ventured out along with three other children after darkness had blanketed the land. Unbeknown to the young ninja, a group of skilled Shinobi was camped just outside their barricade and stealthily trailed the group of children. After traveling safely out of earshot from the small village, the Shinobi attacked Kizu’s group with malicious intent.
- Unable to withstand the onslaught, Kizu and another young child managed to flee towards the camp…leaving behind two fallen friends. The Shinobi gave pursuit but were met with resistance from Kizu’s father and uncle who happened to see the children leaving the main gate. A devastating battle ensued, leaving Kizu’s father dead and his uncle fatally wounded. The attacking Shinobi were also vanquished, allowing Kizu, his uncle, and the other child to safely return to camp.
- Kizu was devastated, but was assured he was not to blame on account of not being informed about their lineage. The story of the Water Specter clan was explained in great detail to all of the children the very next day. Only a few days after that fateful night word reached camp that Amegakure was under attack. Many of the more skilled Shinobi fled, leaving behind only the children, no older than the age of thirteen.
- Kizu was left only with his sister, after his family’s tragic fate. However, he pleaded with the elder Shinobi to let him fight for Amegakure. After much debate, it was decided for Kizu to remain with his sister, Seirou, at the camp. Many months passed as no one from the relief effort returned. After almost a year’s time, many strange Shinobi came to Kizu’s camp with the tragic news.
- The remaining legacy of the Water Specter clan were vacated to Konoha, were many of them resided for almost four years before deciding a return to Amegakure was safe. However, some families decided to remain in Konoha, while others ventured to Sunagakure to seek a new home. Kizu and Seirou both agreed that a new start for them was needed to move past the loss of their entire family. They ventured through the massive forests, making their way to Sunagakure and a new life.
Training History:
- Kizu was trained from a very early age. Given the circumstances of his clan, proper defensive training was very necessary for survival. Early training up until the age of 8 involved learning to use the clan’s bloodline technique and understanding the proper times for using the technique. After the age of 8 Kizu’s training intensified, incorporating rigorous hand to hand combat and sword training became part of his daily regiment. He was taught many forms of hand to hand combat, isolating grappling and extensive kick maneuvers into a precision fighting style. Kizu also developed a knack for the wooden sword or Bokken.

Personality:
Outside of Battle:
- Kizu tends to be a bit reserved at first glance, not making much of an effort to stand out or strike up a conversation. He tends to walk with a hint of arrogance, although not intentional, he does see his ideas as slightly advanced compared to his peers. This idea of self worth often translates into a quiet confidence and a superior tone. He seems to have an unspoken intensity behind his eyes, making him very hard to approach.
- Upon further interaction Kizu can be seen as a very well mannered and calm individual. He does tend to have a very smug tone, and often will be seen as rude. However, he will soothe this over with a joking manner or smiling at the individual. He has an extremely adept use of language, and can often talk his way out of many situations. This is extremely useful in dealing with other people’s emotions, giving the effect but not necessarily caring about their emotions what so ever.
- Kizu will generally keep to himself, often entranced in deep thought or just spacing out as he stares into the distance. He has no problem with social interaction, and can remain on par with even the most intellectual discussions. His ability to adapt to the person he is talking to is uncanny, and makes those around him more comfortable once they break past his strong and silent exterior. Most still struggle with his smug and sometimes rude tone, but those that he is close with have learned to accept it as part of his manner.
In Battle:
- Kizu’s smugness often will translate into battle, seeing his opponent’s as weak and insignificant in comparison. His attitude to fighting can not be solely contributed to a smug outlook; he is also a fierce competitor. However, if you refer to him as competitive…watch out. He sees competitiveness as an effort to impress others. Kizu’s motivation is only to not disappoint himself. He sees losing as a learning experience, despite how deeply it devastates him.
- He is known for effective maneuvers in battle. Wasting time with banter and showy techniques is certainly not his style. He has a reputation for ending training sessions in a relatively short time through well planned and sometimes vicious techniques. Although he may hate prolonging a battle, he will not let his allies fall behind or risk being injured. Most of his efforts in team type situations are often spent defending his allies then attacking when they are seen as capable.
Jutsus:
(1) Touketsu Toku (Frozen Shield)
- After transforming part of his body or an object into condensed water, Kizu will shift those molecules around changing its state from a liquid to a thick solid. This creates a seemingly frozen state in the object, providing a stable shield. However, after one solid strike against its surface the item will revert to its original state. (With enhanced training, the durability of this technique will increase)
